Carpet know-how

What our technicians look at prior to cleaning your carpet:

  • Various materials are used in carpet making. We assess the fibres, pile, grade and backing prior to commencement.

  • Fibres can be synthetic or natural and are woven together to form the pile/thickness of the carpet, which is dependent on the number of strands or piles that are used.

  • The grade/quality of the carpet is determined by such things as how it is constructed, the face weight and the fibre used. This in turn will determine the durability of the carpet.

  • When buying carpets, depending on where you are going to put them, it's a good idea to consider how durable they are, particularly in a busy space.

  • The backing: the fibres are attached to one backing, and then another backing separates the carpet from the floor.
